Accessibility Statement
Last updated
We want Table Tennis: 1v1 Online to be usable by as many people as possible, including players with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA for the menus, lessons, quizzes and this website.
What we have done
- Motion and flashing. A Screen effects switch in Settings, and the phone’s reduced-motion setting, turn off animation, flashes and shake. Nothing flashes more than three times a second.
- Screen readers. Buttons and dialogs are labelled, score changes and match status are announced, and menus and quizzes work with TalkBack and VoiceOver as far as we have been able to check.
- Keyboard. Menus, lessons and quizzes can be used with a keyboard, and dialogs close with Escape. Matches can be played with the arrow keys and Space.
- Colour and contrast. Text meets AA contrast. Right and wrong answers use a border style and a symbol as well as colour.
- Play assists. In practice matches you can slow the ball and make the bat bigger.
- Learning. Short, plain-language lessons. The website quizzes work without JavaScript.
What is not fully accessible yet
- The 3D court cannot be read by a screen reader. Score and status are announced, but not where the ball is.
- Hard shots need a flick or swipe. There is no single-tap alternative yet.
- A few small labels on the match screen do not grow with the phone’s text size.
- We have not yet had the game tested by a wide group of assistive-technology users. We are working on it.
Tell us about a problem
If something stops you from using the game or this website, please email [email protected]. Tell us what you were trying to do and what device or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix problems as soon as we can.
